MK Gilad Kariv (Labor) has responded to Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked's statement regarding expanding refugee policy from Ukraine.

"The demand to exclude relatives from the refugee quota was presented days ago and it is a pity that it was only accepted now after the publication of the painful conditions at the airport. This is a welcome but unsatisfactory step. The Israeli government must increase the quota for the absorption of refugees who are not entitled to the Law of Return and who have no relatives in Israel significantly. The Jewish identity of the State of Israel will not be harmed as a result, but will only intensify." said MK Kariv.
