The Meretz faction responded to the approval of the Citizenship Law in its second and third readings in the Knesset plenum Thursday evening.
"After a stubborn struggle that the Meretz party has waged against the Citizenship Law, ever since the formation of the government, and even more so in the last week, the law was passed with the support of the opposition, despite the Meretz faction voting against it."
"The Citizenship Law is a temporary provision that is extended from time to time, immediately after the law was passed, the Meretz faction submitted a bill directing its repeal. We will continue to fight this law, for the value of equality in Israel, and stand by the families affected by it in the Knesset and government."
