Conservative Yoon Suk-yeol was on Wednesday elected as South Korea’s new President, after receiving 48.59 percent of the vote compared to 47.79 percent received by rival Lee Jae-myung.

Yoon, a former prosecutor, holds a hawkish view on North Korea.
