The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, is leaving tonight (Wednesday) together with a delegation from United Hatzalah to pay a quick visit to the Jewish community in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The visit was held at the invitation of Moldova Chief Rabbi Pinchas Salzman, who is leading the operation to absorb refugees from Ukraine arriving in Moldova.
The Chief Rabbi will tour together with Rabbi Salzman and representatives of United Hatzalah in the Jewish community and local communities, accommodation complexes and refugee complexes from Ukraine and will closely examine the scope of the huge activity and immediate needs for continued rescue and absorption of more Jewish refugees.
The Chief Rabbi will assist in solving halakhic problems that arose following the war and will encourage the families of refugees staying in the absorption centers of the Jewish community in Kishinev.
