A 30-year-old resident of Ramle has been detained on suspicion of attempting to set a local synagogue on fire. Police opened an investigation after being notified of a fire that had broken out at the facility last night (Sunday).
Investigators arriving at the scene opened a search after collecting evidence from the damaged building.
Police will request the judge to extend the suspect's detention at a hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
