The Israeli consul in Romania, Roni Shabtai, this evening (Tuesday) helped a group of about 100 Jewish children from an orphanage from the Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr to cross the border into Romania.
Some of the children did not have proper documentation to cross the border. With the help of the consul and the governor of Suceava district in Romania, the children managed to leave Ukraine safely.
The children will stay in the city of Cluj and from there continue to Israel.
