Transportation Minister Merav Michaeli and Director of the Ministry of Transportation, Michal Frank, greeted Avi Naor this morning (Monday) in a special ceremony, upon taking office as Chairman of the National Road Safety Authority.
"There is a personal, heavy and painful price that we pay for traffic accidents, along with the heavy price that the state and the economy pay, the time lost in traffic jams, material damage, and of course the loss of life. It is time for the State of Israel to take it upon itself to reduce this damage to as close as it can to zero and for the ministry to give the issue of road safety the attention it deserves," Michaeli stated.
