Defense Minister Benny Gantz today approved the "Between the Waves" program, to continue the Defense Ministry's assistance in dealing with COVID-19 that was presented to him by Brigadier General (Res.) Moshe Ederi.
The Minister of Defense stated that with the decrease in morbidity, a process of significantly reducing the activity of all public health roles will be carried out by April, including testing, investigations, assistance to hospitals and all other efforts of the defense system. This is in addition to the closure of the research and monitoring unit, which will be re-established in the Ministry of Health in the coming months.
The activities of the Alon unit for fighting COVID-19 will continue at a lower intensity, in accordance with the plan that will be presented during the month of March, until the end of 2022, based on the availability of troops to man the unit.
