El Al began flying cargo from Turkey to Israel and from Israel to the United States and other destinations. Last night, the first cargo flight to Istanbul departed.

According to the airline, this move is part of the policy of establishing a cargo hub at Ben Gurion Airport that will allow the expansion of El Al's distribution network from Israel to various destinations in the world, and to Israel. The company's goal is to reach a frequency of 2 to 3 weekly cargo flights.
