Poland to boycott World Cup playoff against Russia

Poland will boycott its World Cup playoff against Russia due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, BBC reported.

Captain Robert Lewandowski explained the decision saying, "We can't pretend that nothing is happening," and the president of Poland's football association, Cezary Kulesza, confirmed that the team "does not intend" to play the game.

Russia was due to host Poland on March 24, BBC noted.
