German Chancellor Scholz delivered a speech to the nation in which he addressed Russia's attack on Ukraine.
"Putin wants to take us back in time - we will not go back to the period of 1989 (before the fall of the Berlin Wall). The West has prepared sanctions that will make Putin pay a heavy price for his actions," Scholz said.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the British parliament: "Putin's barbaric campaign must end. We will freeze Russian assets, block their access to the British currency, and impose sanctions on Belarus as well. We will enact laws and introduce new trade restrictions. The oligarchs in London will have nowhere to hide." .
