District Court Judge Ilan Sela released from detention the last detainee, a 16 year old, out of about 20 detainees of the convoy that was attacked. In addition, Judge Sela shortened the house arrests of the other youths until next Thursday.
In his decision, the judge referred to the long time that has passed since the incident in question - several weeks, as well as the young age of the minor. Attorneys David Halevi and Nati Rom represented the minor and others on behalf of the Honenu organization.
Adv. David Halevi welcomed the decision. "The court accepted all our claims and ordered the release of our client. This is a completely necessary decision. In the first place, there was no reason to request his arrest, certainly not to request his arrest in the context of a prosecutor's statement. This is a 16-year-old minor with no criminal record, while even according to the state his part was negligible and marginal. In this state of affairs, we think the decision is the right and just one, and we welcome it. "
