Right-wing activists have submitted a request to the Jerusalem District Court, asking for permission to hold a demonstration in close proximity to the home of Tal Yashuviev in the Sheikh Jarrah/Shimon Hatzaddik neighborhood. They want to hold a demonstration on Tuesday at six o'clock in the evening, with the participation of a large number of Knesset members and public figures.
Israel National News has learned that police offered instead to issue a permit for a protest to be held at the entrance to Jerusalem at the Chords' Bridge, or, alternatively, at Zion Square in the center of town, but the activists rebuffed the offers.
MK Itamar Ben Gvir, head of the Otzma Yehudit party, responded: "If left-wingers and Arabs are allowed to hold demonstrations in the Shimon Hatzaddik neighborhood, then there is no reason why right-wing activists should not be allowed to hold a demonstration there protesting against the failure of police to ensure the safety of the Jewish residents of the neighborhood."
