The Minister of Finance, Avigdor Liberman, has signed an order imposing a purchase tax on liquid for filling e-cigarettes. The order will take effect today and it replaces the order approved by the Finance Committee.
The order stipulates that the liquid for filling e-cigarettes will be subject to a purchase tax of 243% on the common wholesale price adding NIS 7.34 per ml, which in any case will not be less than NIS 14.08 per ml. The purchase tax rate on disposable cigarettes will continue to be at a level of 270% of the common wholesale price plus NIS 8.16 per ml but not less than NIS 15.64 per ml.
