The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, ordered the security department of the municipality to immediately establish an innovative security system that will ensure the peace of the residents of the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood (Sheikh Jarrah).
Leon promised that the municipality "will take care of the situation with rioters and in addition, agreed with the district commander to significantly increase the police forces in the neighborhood in order to increase the sense of security in the neighborhood.
"We must not forget tomorrow - Jerusalem is a city of coexistence, so it was and so it will be. I call for everyone to calm down. Give us the peace it takes to get the neighborhood back to normal," he added.
