A bill to secure the status of the Druze community was approved today (Sunday) in the Ministerial Committee for Legislation.
The law provides the Druze community with equal rights in the State of Israel and recognizes the Druze as having linked their fate to Israel's even before the state was established.
Hamad Amar (Yisrael Beiteinu) said: "I am pleased to inform you that a few moments ago we passed in the Ministerial Committee for Legislation the bill to anchor the status of the Druze community as having equal rights. Knesset members should vote in favor of this law, which will be put to a vote in the Knesset plenum on Wednesday. "
