After the British Board of Deputies, an umbrella organization of mainstream Jewry, condemned the visit of MK Bezalel Smotrich to England, Otzma Yehudit head MK Itamar Ben Gvir came out in support of Smotrich.

"The Board of Deputies has been infected by left-wing Reformism and has forgotten what it means to be Jewish," Ben Gvir said. "Unfortunately, they have yet to rid themselves of a Galut mentality, and they won't do so until they make Aliyah.

"This organization does not represent a majority of British Jews," Ben Gvir further alleged, "and it's a good thing that my good friend Bezalel Smotrich has gone to England to strengthen the Jewish community there, to explain his position and to work on behalf of the Jewish People and the Land of Israel."
