Speaking on Galei Tzahal this morning, MK Nir Barkat (Likud) criticized the government's new economic plan, calling it a band-aid that won't solve any problems.

"The public's criticism put them in a panic so they put on a performance and produced a band-aid instead of a real solution," Barkat said. "There's nothing here that solves the real problems of the country. There's no vision, no strategy.

"What the government should be doing is providing huge subsidies for our homegrown businesses so that it's cheaper for people to buy made-in-Israel," he added. "But all the Finance Ministry is interested in is looking for little savings - you can see the fingerprints of all the novices in the Finance Ministry in this new plan of theirs."
