Speaking on Reshet Bet this morning, MK Alex Kushnir (Yisrael Beytenu), head of the Knesset Finance Committee, insisted that the government's new economic plan has been a long time in the development and was not simply a rushed response to public protest at the high and mounting cost of living.
"This was good staff work that began in a timely manner," Kushnir said. "Economic processes cannot be pulled out of one's sleeve. The moment that we had a plan ready, we produced it. We always said that anyone who was harmed would receive assistance - and when will that happen? When we get the data," he said.
