Following today's special meeting of the Likud party, MK Yisrael Katz published a statement clarifying his party's strategy.

"Our aim in the Likud is not to wait for the next round of elections, but to take action now in order to change the current government," he wrote. "The government today is being held hostage to the Islamic Movement, and woe to us if we have to wait until November 2025 to get rid of this Bennett-Lapid-Abbas coalition.

"We will be holding another meeting very soon at which we will develop a comprehensive working plan designed to prevent our land being lost to our enemies. We will continue to serve Israeli citizens and the State of Israel from the opposition benches," he concluded.
