Foreign Minister and Alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid is promoting a proposal that stipulates that an elected public official who has been found guilty of 'moral turpitude' will be permanently removed from the public arena.

The initiator of the law, MK Boaz Toporovsky (Yesh Atid), said today: "The time has come for us to really fight corruption. Not for seven years and not for 14 years. Anyone convicted of an offense of moral turpitude does not deserve to be elected by the public in the State of Israel. "
