Itzik Elrov, one of the leaders of the protest against the price of cottage cheese in 2011, on Tuesday commented in an interview with Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) on the recent price increases.
"Every company is trying to take advantage of the window of opportunity to raise prices under the auspices of the coronavirus so that no one notices, but they were caught. You see exactly the same public sentiment they have feared in recent years that has caused them not to raise prices," Elrov said.
"Politicians tend to bury their heads in the sand. There is a cabinet that deals around the clock with identifying variants that may penetrate the country, but what the government needs to do is set up a 'cost of living cabinet', map out the problems and failures and start fixing them," he added.
