Netanyahu's entourage is planning Likud primaries towards the end of the year, Israel Hayom reported.
According to the report, Netanyahu's entourage is considering holding primaries to anchor his status, which has been slightly undermined following reports in the last two weeks of his retirement. Meanwhile, opponents of the party argue that there is no point in holding primaries because there are no elections on the horizon. In addition, they point to the fact that the Likud party is in a deficit of more than NIS 50 million, with the costs of primaries being NIS 10 million. The chairman of the Likud Center, MK Haim Katz, told Israel Hayom that no one had contacted him on the issue.
