Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David addressed Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Economy and Industry Minister Orna Barbivai demanding the immediate issuance of an extension order in the security industry. This is ten months after the agreements between the Histadrut and the government ministries were issued - and this order has still not been officially issued by the state.
"This is a fatal blow to the security industry, both in terms of the continued erosion in the hourly wages of security guards, and in terms of the difficulty of recruiting workers for the industry," Bar-David wrote to the ministers.
The chairman of the Histadrut announced that if the extension order is not signed by next Thursday, there will be no choice but to shut down security workers throughout the country starting February 15.
