Responding to the connection of fiber-optic cables to the Magen Dan neighborhood near the town of Elkana, the first such "young settlement" to benefit from the technology, the Yesha Council issued a statement:
"This connection demonstrates that it is possible to connect all the other young settlements across the country. We wish to thank Communications Minister Hendel for his efforts on behalf of the residents of Judea and Samaria ... and we hope that other government ministers will support his approach and provide a solution for all the other residents of the young settlements as soon as possible."
