The Magistrate's Court in Haifa imposed a fine of NIS 300,000 on a ship that polluted the sea in the port of Haifa.

The ship, Alexandria, carrying the Cyprus flag and owned by Evia Nevigation - which docked at the Haifa port on September 25, 2020, carried out operations to remove ballast water - seawater that is loaded and unloaded from vessels in order to balance and help float the vessel near the refueling dock.As part of the discharge of the water into the sea, the ship spilled oil into the sea, thus causing pollution of the sea with oil.
