MK Michael Biton (Blue and White) on Sunday night called for the Israeli government to place the issue of earthquake preparedness at the top of its list of national priorities.
"Israel's readiness for an earthquake must rise to the top of the list national priorities. We live on the Syrian-African rift - and we are far from ready for the blow that this rift may bring. At the beginning of December, I had an urgent discussion in the Economics Committee, headed by me, regarding the state's preparations for dealing with the fear of the collapse of old buildings. We must be prepared as soon as possible, tomorrow," Biton wrote.
