Maj. Gen. Amos Gilad, former director of the Political-Military Affairs Bureau at the Defense Ministry, commented on the submarine affair in an interview with Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) on Sunday night, after the government approved the establishment of a commission of inquiry into the matter.
"Nine submarines is big on us. Allowing the Germans to sell submarines to Egypt at Netanyahu's sole discretion is irresponsible. The vast knowledge that exists in the army and in its arms about what is needed cannot be ignored," Gilad said.
