    Bill banning enemy flags rejected

The Ministerial Committee for Legislation rejected MK May Golan's (Likud) bill banning the display of enemy flags.

MK Golan responded: "The first Palestinian government is in favor of waving Islamic Movement flags and is ashamed of blue and white flags. There are no limits to its hypocrisy. "

According to the bill, citizens who wave a flag of an enemy state or of bodies that are not friendly to Israel during a demonstration, such as PLO flags, will be prosecuted and will be sentenced to one year in prison.
