Since the corona vaccines began in Israel, at least 20,000 Israelis have survived when they otherwise would not, and without the vaccines the death toll so far could have reached 30,000. This emerges from a special data analysis conducted for Israel Hayom by Prof. Itamar Grotto, former head of public health services at the Ministry of Health and deputy director general of the ministry.

The data compiled and calculated by Grotto is based on the analysis conducted by the Center for Disease Control in Europe, one of the most important bodies in the world for monitoring diseases and epidemics. This is a cautious assessment as it only applies to people aged 60 and over. According to Grotto, there are at least a few thousand more Israelis, under the age of 60, who have survived thanks to the vaccines.
