Defense Minister Benny Gantz responded to the announcement by the Ministers of Finance and Justice of a plan for compensating the families of the victims of the Meron disaster.
"I congratulate the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Justice on their important decision to promote an immediate compensation plan for the families of the victims of the Meron disaster. The State of Israel has a responsibility and a moral debt to those who have lost what is most precious to them - to investigate the matter via the state commission of inquiry I established when the government was formed, and to provide for their future through economic and social support," said Minister Gantz.
