The Forum for Families of Meron Disaster Victims commented on the Justice and Finance Ministers' announcement of a compensation plan for those affected by last year's mass casualty incident.
"There are things that are beyond all politics. The government is doing the right thing by taking responsibility and compensating the families of the dead. We welcome the fact that the government took the enormous damage done to families seriously and reached an agreement to provide the assistance needed."
"We congratulate MK Ya'akov Asher (United Torah Judaism), who has worked tirelessly since the disaster to push for compensation of the victims' families, Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Justice Minister Gideon Saar who worked to prepare a compensation proposal, and Coalition Chairwoman Idit Silman for helping the bereaved families," the forum said.
