The initiator of the Compensation for Families of the Meron Disaster Law, MK Ya'akov Asher (United Torah Judaism), responded to the announcement that the government will approve a compensation plan for those injured in last year's disaster.
"I congratulate Justice Minister Gideon Saar on the decision to advance the Ministry of Finance outline for compensation for the families of the victims of the disaster in Meron, as agreed in our conversation three weeks ago after the Ministerial Committee discussed the bill I submitted. Better late than never. These families deserve to receive compensation by force of law, not as an act of charity," Asher stated.
