The head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, Shlomo Ne'eman, in response to the attempted attack at the Gush Junction, said:
"This attempt to harm the State of Israel and the settlement enterprise was also successfully thwarted by our heroic soldiers. We thank the fighters from the bottom of our hearts and inform the terrorists with full force: your fate is death and extinction and ours eternal life on our homeland."
