An indictment and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings were filed against a 45-year-old Ashkelon resident, who attacked his 76-year-old mother and injured her.

An investigation was opened last week, after the mother was evacuated to the hospital with bruises and injuries after fleeing her apartment where she was attacked and imprisoned by her son.

The investigation revealed that the suspect hit his mother in the face and ribs, wounded her in the arms and abdomen with a knife - and threatened her life. The indictment attributes to him offenses of threats, false imprisonment, injury and assault of an elderly person causing grievous bodily harm.
