Prof. Galia Rahav, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer, criticized the COVID-19 testing outline in an interview with Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) on Sunday night.

"The first test should be a PCR test. Antigen is a good test but we see that it does miss at the beginning of an infection. I hope that now that we take tests from the pharynx and nose, it could improve the situation," said Rahav.

She also commented on the Omicron wave and said, "The peak is likely still ahead of us, hopefully no more than two or three weeks. It is true that the Omicron is very widespread and difficult to control, but I still think action should be taken to avoid unnecessary infections."
