The Knesset's Economics Committee today approved regulations from the Ministry of Transportation designed to drastically reduce the amount of garbage dumped from vessels at sea.
The regulations were formulated by the Shipping and Ports Authority in the Ministry of Transportation and are based on an international convention (MARPOL) in which many countries around the world are members.
