The Ministerial Committee for Legislation will today discuss a law that seeks to limit the number of ministers in the government.

The bill states that "the purpose of this bill is to repeal the provision of the law, which allows the prime minister to appoint unlimited ministers due to political needs. The proposal will save hundreds of millions of shekels for the public coffers and will streamline government and Knesset work."

The law is being raised by MK Ofir Katz of the Likud, with the aim of embarrassing Yair Lapid, who formulated the law and raised it in the 23rd Knesset.
