Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave permission today to open fire at protesters without any warning, saying that they will be destroyed, reported The Jerusalem Post.

Up to 20,000 people have "attacked" the capital Almaty in anti-government rallies since this last weekend, the report continued.

The Jerusalem Post also reported that Tokayev thanked President Vladimir Putin as well as the leaders of China, Uzbekistan and Turkey for their assistance in quelling the uprising.
