In an interview with i24NEWS, coronavirus crisis manager Professor Salman Zarka explained that the decision to discontinue the list of red zones was made because Israel itself has become a 'red zone'.

"Relative to what is happening abroad, unfortunately Israel is already a red zone. If we are red ourselves, there is no reason not to allow our people to fly to another red country. '

He added: "We believe there will be 20,000, 30,000, even 40,000 new cases per day, and for that reason we believe we are already red."
