Police opened an investigation last night upon receiving a report of a public bus driver traveling from Hadera to Zemer.

According to the suspect, after the driver asked the passenger to put on a mask on the bus, the suspect began threatening the driver and even tried to attack him, but was stopped by the other passengers who were at the scene.

Further down the road when the bus dropped off passengers in Baqa al-Gharbiya, it was blocked by a private vehicle that was in the area and attacked by the suspect. Immediately afterwards, the suspect fled using the vehicle that blocked the bus.

Investigations by the Baqa al-Gharbiya police last night led to the arrest of the suspect, a 49-year-old resident of Zemer, and this morning his detention was extended in the Hadera court until tomorrow.
