The chairman of the Am Shalem movement, Rabbi Haim Amsalem, a dayan and author of the book "Seed of Israel," supports the conversion plan of Minister Matan Kahana.

Rabbi Meir Mazuz Shlita in a letter to Rabbi Ovadia, dated 15 Kislev 5719, writes: "The Haredi journalists reject any proposal for amendment, and in the end, High Court judges may force reform conversions. The conduct of the Chief Rabbinate in her short-sightedness and in the adoption of a policy that officers and rejects conversion. So arose the need for a conversion law that would address all the hundreds of thousands who need conversion, especially those of Israel who feel the seed of Israel is in them and want to return," said Amsalem.

"Hence support for the moves of Minister Matan Kahana, and for a conversion law that will be in accordance with Halacha and the Shulchan Aruch and according to the tradition of Halacha rulings of the great men of Israel from the past. The absurdity will end of reform conversion being recognized for the purpose of the Law of Return and an orthodox conversion of rabbis and scholars from all over the world is not accepted, because in the rabbinate it is not recognized," Amsalem said.
