Following an expose by Israel National News into the goings-on within the Religious Affairs Ministry regarding Minister Matan Kahana's proposed reforms to the state conversion process, MK Itamar Ben Gvir (Otzma Yehudit) has attacked the proposals in strong terms.
"Minister Kahana is, in effect, planning to allow the Reform to convert people 'express-style,' and thereby create a schism within society," he said. "This is a severe attack on Jewish tradition."
Ben Gvir added that, "We had already realized prior to these latest revelations that the proposed reforms would lead to Reform conversions - it was only Kahana himself who refused to see, preferring to bury his head in the sand. But it's not yet too late for Kahana to wake up and stop this dangerous legislation."
