The Knesset plenum on Monday night approved an order imposing a purchase tax on sugary drinks.
57 MKs supported the move and 56 opposed it. The order stipulates that the tax increase will be 1 shekel per liter of drink, and diet drinks will have a tax of an additional 70 agorot per liter.
