Rabbi David Ohayon, chairman of the committee of city rabbis, commented on the kosher reform in an interview with Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) on Sunday night.
"Kashrut is not a matter of regulation - it is a spiritual and religious matter determined by the Torah of Israel and the rabbis of Israel. We are not against the reform, we just wanted them to talk to us. We respect the agenda of ministers, we are open to listening," said Rabbi Ohayon.
