Haim Bibas, chairman of the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel, sent a letter to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett this evening (Saturday evening).
"It is impossible to control the number of people who will be infected, vaccinated and unvaccinated alike. Vaccination is only important to keep the most important figure - the number of people seriously ill - from spiking. There is no meaning to a city being a red zone or not because at this rate, everywhere will be red in a week," he wrote.
"Therefore, the education system must remain open and functional. Children should not have to go looking for tests daily; the millions of testing kits we have should be distributed in schools where they belong," Bibas advised.
