Responding to assertions on the part of Religious Affairs Minister Matan Kahana that he is protecting Religious Zionism from the haredim, Noam party head MK Avi Maoz (Religious Zionism) rebutted Kahana's words.
"The haredim are working and fighting together with us for the honor and dignity of the Chief Rabbinate," Maoz said. "In every single battle for the Jewish character of the State of Israel, we see the haredim fighting for Judaism. They are the ones who take responsibility for the State as a whole. Matan Kahana is the minister who is trying to destroy the Chief Rabbinate."
