Following the decision to postpone voting on the government's conversion bill, MK Moshe Tur Paz (Yesh Atid) told Israel National News that the bill would ultimately be voted into law.
"This new law is an opportunity to open the door to the Jewish world and to 400 thousand Jews who are not recognized as Jews according to halachah [Jewish law]," he said.
"The law will restore the situation that once existed, in which local batei din [rabbinical courts] were permitted to conduct conversions," he alleged. "This government of change will continue to implement change, reach agreements, and advance conversion reform."
