Data from Johns Hopkins University shows that yesterday there was a record number of daily infections of corona in the United States - 512,533 confirmed cases. The previous record was approximately 294,000.
According to the New York Times, the weekly average peaked at 267,000. It is estimated that about 59% of all cases of virus infection in the country are Omicron related.
