MK Bezalel Smotrich, head of the Religious Zionism party, has sharply criticized Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and called into question his ability to lead the government.
"With just six seats, it's become obvious that Bennett is not really prime minister," Smotrich said. "Not one of his ministers relates to him as premier. That's why he is not capable of introducing policies or leading the battle against the coronavirus. Each one of his ministers is pulling in a different direction and the result is confusion and a lack of clear policy. The only thing he can do is make a media blitz of interviews and briefings in order to speak directly to the public.
"When we issued our warning that having a prime minister with just six seats is not democratic and wouldn't work, it was precisely this that we had in mind. This is a dangerous government for the State of Israel, in every single area."
